Corrections Policy
Repair guidance should become more accurate when a reader, source, manufacturer, or internal check identifies a real problem. This policy explains how Repair Riot handles factual, safety, sourcing, visual, and topic-match corrections.
Report a problem
Email [email protected] with the page URL, the statement or step at issue, why it appears wrong or unsafe, and any primary source that supports the report. Do not send a repair emergency or rely on email for urgent safety help.
What happens next
- We identify the exact claim, image, link, or instruction being challenged.
- We compare it with current primary evidence such as manufacturer documentation, official safety guidance, codes, standards, or public agency material when available.
- We correct, clarify, consolidate, unpublish, or add a stronger stop point according to what the evidence supports.
- We rerun the page's structural, source, safety, link, image, and publication-readiness checks before it returns to the public cohort.
Material correction notices
A silent spelling or formatting fix does not need a public notice. A change that materially alters the diagnosis, safety boundary, recommended action, part identification, cited evidence, or meaning of a guide should be disclosed on the affected page with the correction date and a plain description of what changed.
This page is the permanent location for sitewide correction notices. When Repair Riot issues one, the entry will identify the affected page, the original problem, the correction, and the date.
Urgent safety issues
If a published instruction may create an immediate risk of injury, fire, shock, gas exposure, flooding, contamination, or serious property damage, the page should be removed from the public build or blocked from publication while the issue is investigated. Traffic or revenue is not a reason to leave an unsafe instruction live.
No individualized troubleshooting
A correction report is about the accuracy of published content. Repair Riot cannot diagnose an individual home, appliance, fixture, or system by email and does not provide emergency or professional repair services.
